Further drying it with warm air or natural breeze allows excess moisture to evaporate while also softening the stiffness. Repeating this process will gradually make it softer. If you are not in a hurry, hang it for storage in a well-ventilated, shaded area away from direct sunlight. It will naturally soften over time.
